Yah, definitely needs checking, just don't see that every single cometic install requires yanking the block to get machined. Head should be... (Unless it came off here, then I'd prolly use my hand lap rig, since it seemed to work fine on Escort head ...)

I've run the cometic with no special machining. No issues. here.

You don't need studs with a Cometic. I had crappy luck with them leaking on my 8 valve but are fine on my TIII.

Fine on my TIIIs the 3 times ive used them, no special machining on the block or head. 2 with bolts, 1 with studs

While we were at SEMA last week we stopped by our head gasket vendors booth. I looked through his display samples to find the one closest to or MP versions in materials and construction. He said the red adhesive can be added in other areas exactly like the 006. He's anxious to get started but we need pre-orders first. We will receive test pieces which we can run on a few Hi Boost cars. He knows we won't commit unless they are constructed per our specs and will withstand the most extreme conditions.

We chose that head gasket because you can make a 005 with a 006 but not the other way around.
