Angry Its official, we are screwed for head gaskets!

Have my van apart, called the local dealer, the 005 is no longer a good number, the 5281065 is on national back order, he tried a locator and no one showed it and it showed a minus number, which isn't good, then had him look it up by application, it changes to the 65 number, He did say the 006 is still a good number and a few of those are still in the system,

The 006 needs to be modded to fit T1 and TBI, not a big deal if you don't mind doing that. I have a 006 here, going to mod that for my TIII.

Their not seeing the demand so things get dropped. Call Mopar directly on monday 1-888-528-HEMI and ask them what the deal is. If theres a magic # of backorders required before they re-release something ask them and report back.

    Will do.

Can't see how they can say that, I must have ordered/used a 100 over the years for me and others, plus how many on this and TD? 1000's of these cars/vans around, doesn't make sense,

1000's of TD/TM in both Canada/US isn't enough volume. I see more 80's Dodge in junkyard than on the road, but even then, numbers are way down from what they used to be.

Remind them there's still a few cars with original owners with lifetime powertrain warranties, what are they gonna do, buy 'em a new Dart.

Well the headgasket was fine for my Escort but their valvecover gasket and cam seal sucked.

No, they'll probably just use OE replacement gaskets. I think we are more concerned about the cancellation of aftermarket performance gaskets.

You didn't read the first post, NO MORE replacement gaskets either, that is part number 5281065.

Cometics are great if you don't mind spending $100+, not everyone needs one to wants to spend that kind of money.
