    15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

I have a set of made for FWD Mopar Revolution wheels that are 15 inch and 8 inch wide. They are used, black spokes, polished edge.
    Like these....
    http://www.revolutionwheels.com/5-spoke/

They are light, about 13 pounds each. Made in England. Made for race or street.

BUT are too wide for a car I have. "WHAT WOULD THEY FIT" .....is my question?

Just for a race car with flared fenders? Or would these work on a stock car or mini van?

What's the offset? Too wide as in "rubs the strut" or "rubs the fender"?

    Re: 15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

I'll check, but like I said these were made and ran on FWD late 80's Mopar. So they do fit right.

---------- Post added at 06:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:35 AM ----------

8 inch wide, 9 inch rim edge to rim edge.
5 inch rim edge to mounting surface.
So that makes it .5 off set i think.
Taking 9, divide in two. Subtract the 5.
    Right.?

5" BS sounds like they were set to fit inside the fender, but might rub the strut (stock) with a tall or wide tire.

Too wide for a stock Fiero. Have a very good friend that really wanted them. Took them to Portland yesterday to his place. (He has a newly painted and restored Fiero) Too wide.

Those are about a +12 offset wheel. Probably made for something RWD on a 5"x4" pattern. They will work on most G,K,P,J, etc bodies with a shorter tire comparabe to a 205 50 15 or 23x8.5 slicks. I can not comment on van fitment as I have not owned one.

These WERE made for the FWD Mopar's. 5 on 100.

I wonder why they have such a low offset then. They are set up pretty close to what my old wheels I ran my slicks on. 15x8 Boyd's Hammers from the 80's. They had 5x4 and 5x4.5 bolt patterns and 4.75" backspacing.

    Re: 15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

an 8" wheel with a +12 offset was not made for a FWD mopar unless it was made by an idiot. Thats not going to fit ANYTHING k-car related 'right', although it will 'fit' nearly everything if you run a really short tire, as mentioned. You may also have to trim the front corners of the wheelwells on some cars to allow full steering.

For comparison, the 8" wheels i run on one of my cars are +35 and that is just about perfectly centered in the available space.. to the point that i had to roll my fender lips and i am limited on negative camber due to strut clearance. So i am pretty close on both ends and couldnt really go wider. The offset is just not right if it is +12.

    Re: 15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

If these were set IN any farther it would hit the strut. So they seem right for going 8 inch wide. All you could do more was go out.

    Re: 15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

Keep in mind strut clearance is dependent on your camber setting. My 8" +35s still have some clearance even though they are set 23mm (almost exactly 1") farther inboard than what you have. an 8" wheel with +12mm offset should have about 2 finger widths of strut clearance. If they dont, i think it's possible the +12 number is bad and you would need to take a new measurement.

I think they would work real well...as long as the rig had wide flares.

    I have an extra set.

So no reason to kill, just buy my extra set.

The conversion chart in the link i posted puts your wheels at +12mm, exactly as you had said.

Knowing that, i would say they would not fit ANY L-body or K-car 'well' without flares, may require trimming the front corners of some fenderwells, and would certainly rub the top of the wheelwell if the tire was not very short to gain clearance there.

But, a stock-height car with some 225/45/15s on these wheels may actually look pretty damn good. You'd get some lowering affect and likely would not rub on compression if you didnt lower the suspension itself. Some people are 100% turned off by wheels 'sticking out' but i think in moderation it can be ok, sometimes.

    Re: 15 " x 8" wide wheels 5-spoke "Revolution brand"

Hmm, i never even considered that (im in the market for wheels for my neon too).

I think these are 8" wide, 0 offset. So these Revolutions would be 12mm farther in (~1/2in) but i think they would still stick out a good bit. The only reason the wheels in this pic dont stick way out at the top is the negative camber. Personally, i hate tire stretch on most cars so i dont think i could make these Revolutions fit my neon since you'd pretty much have to go 'hellaflush' with them.
