Of course, all it could take is 1 bad spring for someone to notice an "improvement" when replacing springs. Gary makes me depressed about aftermarket springs.

Imagine buying a $14,000 crate Hemi and having to rebuild it right out of the box.

Wrong gaskets, soft cams, bad machine work.

Guys buy aluminum heads and throw away the provided springs and retainers all the time.

Woah, well this thread went off the tracks. It doesn't matter whether any other car could benefit from springs as they are all different. What matters is if a high boost (20+psi) 8 valve sees benefit from the stronger beehive vs stock valve springs, even with the stock cam.

I'll be bringing the van up to michigan where I plan to have it dyno tuned and get a couple of things ironed out. Then I'll see what it can really do at the track.

As far as valvesprings, the main benefit of a stronger valvespring if you aren't floating from high rpm issue, is to make the exhaust valve seat quicker/better against the backpressure in your manifold. You may have 20 psi of boost pushing on the back of the intake valve, but you likely have 30-40 trying to keep the exhaust valve from closing.
