    Re: Going racing this Saturday

Not so much. A half hour before I was suppose to meet friends to eat before we go. I'm east of the track and the storm was heading east to west.

I'm done until after monsoon season which will be September. I'm tired of loading up my s**t just to unload it without racing. The last THREE times I've tried to race my van it's rained. It doesn't rain ALL WEEK until Saturday. The track is about an hour and twenty minutes away. The first time I actually made it there and then it started raining. At least it starts now before I hit the road.

I was rained out 7 times from racing, in a middle of a drought, 4 or 5 years ago.

Don't go one foot further north though, the speedweek folks will be hyper annoyed if you rain/wet out the salt.

When I put on the TU cast header, 2 piece intake, and super 60 turbo the Ostrich problem went away. I can't explain it so don't ask, I'm just going to roll with it. So now that I know it works I can move forward with my SRT-4 build. I just have to put the transmission together.

You might need to get the booster chip do dad, I had the same problem, put one of those in, Moates makes them, problem solved.

Also i have been the most consistent with my Drag radials, but i do have a phantom grip in my van.

I think you'll love the swirl head over the g-head and watch out, I had a PG, doing a burnout, felt something weird, turned off the track and it felt weird, made noise, then I heard it, crap, took it apart and saw this.

That won't work. I have to load it up on my tow dolly and load up all my gear in my truck for it to rain. The two previous weeks when I took my 5.9 Dakota, because I drove it to the track, there was no rain. Especially now I just bought a four-post lift. It blocks my tow dolly so now it's takes even longer to load up. I have wheels that I attach to it so I can roll it where I want it. I took pictures but I forgot my camera at work.

    I remembered my camera today.

My new four post lift in the way blocking my tow dolly (with the wheels attached ready to move).

My new four post lift rolled out of the way to access my tow dolly.

HUH? isn't the hoist supposed to be bolted to the floor?

I guess if your wrestling the car while it's on the lift I'm sure you could knock it over. I bought it for inspections, oil changes, and eventually put it in the back to park a car on top and one underneath.

I never did understand how some of those 4 posts are supposed to be moveable. They dont SEEM to have enough structural connection between the pillars to be able to pick anything up without being bolted down, or they'd splay out and collapse. But i guess that doesnt happen. Silly brain playing it safe.

I'll try to remember to take some pictures of inside the columns. Once you see it you'll understand the way they lock together.

Ditto, scares me not having a hoist bolted down. Is it designed to me moveable?

Yes. There are a few out there that are marketed as movable.
