Anyone have any experience with these? We plan to run the stock exhaust from the downpipe back (for stealth purposes).

The screws that attach the motor to the cut out get loose very easily.
Otherwise, it works good.

you can specify which way you want the led to light up( I have mine setup so that when its in the middle the light is on, because I can hear the difference if ts open or closed)
ATP Turbo makes a pneumatically conrolled cut-out that you can control to open using a manual boost controller like a grainger valve. Seems like it would be more reliable to me.

perhaps, but is also the most expensive too.
I just got a used QTP 2.5in cutout off ebay. I hope to get it installed next week. Then I can see how reliable they are.

I got it on E-bay. Brand new 3" very reasonable price I was going to by new from QTP, they were back ordered and they couldn't tell when they would catch up.

I have one on my Lebaron, it's awesome . Seat of the pants says it is huge for power gains and sounds good too!
the Mccord is the original and is ~$120 for 3"Originally Posted by Murphy
One thing I forgot to mention.......a 3" QTP butterfly won't fit into a 3" pipe. The butterfly is 3" diameter OD and exhaust TUBING is also 3" OD (tubing is measured by OD and pipe is measured by ID). I'm running a 2.5 QTP valve in a 3" cutout. Tha't my experience anyway.

Jim had me worried for abit. He warned me about the pipe id size after I ordered the y-pipe.
But I have good news, that doesn't pertain to me saving alot on car insurance.
My QTP 2.5in cutout fits the Summit racing 2.5in y-pipe just fine. The 2.5in summit y-pipe is really closer to 3inches in diameter. It is necked down to 2.5in to mount to the exhaust. The cutout part of the pipe is 3inches in diameter.
So the summit y-pipe will work with the 2.5 in cutout.

I have a quick time 3" stainless y-pipe and a mccord 3" cutout and they match perfect. The holes on the y-pipe are slotted for a little movement.
Slightly old thread but just wanted to throw this out there. I've actually had my McCord power plate installed on vehicles for about 3 months total in the 3 years I've had it. I loved it til last night when the butterfly fell off. No more warranty and no butterfly. I was stuck with wide open exhaust in town, and unless I can get a butterfly put on it, I've now got a $100 paperweight....

is yours one that was tig welded to the shaft? I know they all come that way now because of that prob
I don't believe it is. Too bad I couldn't find the butterfly or I'd have just taken it in to get welded back on. Now I have to try to find one since i know the warranty is expired...
