What are the performance pad options for the 89-90 big brakes? I'm going to be replacing the front rotors on the Lebaron soon and want to upgrade the pads at the same time. Was playing in the mountains last weekend and got brake fade pretty quickly.

I believe Rbryant is still selling the Hawk pads. I'm not sure what else would be available.
The Hawk will surely be an upgrade from any A/M that you can buy.
Depending how fortunate you are and if you really want to step up from O/S brand pads, Porterfield and Carbotech will help you stop without drama.
On a side note, you will never want to go back to "ordinary" pads ever again. No matter how many horsepower the car have!
I think the Hawk pads rbryant sells only fit the 91-up brakes?
Found these, dunno how good they are but pretty much have to be better than regular replacement.:

Hawk makes rears but not fronts. EBC doesn't make any pads for 89-90.
Call Porterfield and talk to Wendy. They have pads for the car. 800-537-6842. The R4S is a fun pad. A really aggressive pad is the R4-1, but do not expect it to be quiet, rotors friendly, or dust free. It will stop better than anything you can imagine.

Yeah I don't want the R4-1 then lol. I need a pad w/ decent street manners that won't fade on a mountain run (ie 10-15 mins of hard downhill). If they make some noise that's fine, as is some dust. Car is daily driven though so I don't want it to eat rotors. You say the R4S works good on the street?
Also, I'm assuming the rear pads can be regulars? Or should I upgrade them too?
The cheap parts store rear pads on our Daytona do so well that I can't imagine getting much more out of the tires than what we already to with an upgraded rear pad. If we ran DOT legal autocross type tires on the car daily or some such I may consider it.
I do run the R4S at all four corners now, but no noticeable difference between the stock rear pad vs the R4S. I, as others suggested, run dot4 brake fluid. The performance of the pad will diminish like any other over optimum temperature, but will be a big improvement over stock stuff.

I recently got a set of pads for my '89 11" front brake setup from Rock Auto. I went with Raybestos Super Stops which were only about $7 IIRC. Part #SSD414.
Great price for pads! They offer a 10% increase in stopping power according to Raybestos over their standard pad. They did not answer my question as to the coefficient of either pad!

I do not know. I haven't used those pads in years. Raybestos used to be very forthcoming with information, perhaps someone would call and see.
