    Noise. Timing belt too tight?

I'm getting what sounds like a water pump noise but coming from the area of the crankshaft pully. Im not really sure how I should be checking tension but when i turn the car off it reads higher(110) then when I set it(90). I did the 2 wrenches thing and it reads lower the harder i pull.

Id bet it is too tight. But why? Did you replace the belt or something?

Masi 16v timing belts don't need anywhere near the tension Lotus motor timing belts are set at. Different animal. You probably answered your own question.
