85 SC Super 60 build thread

Well, I've owned quite a few TD's over the years, last one I had was a mildly built Shadow back in 01, I got this 1985 SC last summer with a suspected busted ring land. 2.2 T2 conversion.. and well what turned out to be a simple "Oh let's get a new block" turned into.. Oh common block with forged pistons, ohh Super 60 turbo and bigger injectors.. hmm mild ported head.. 3 inch exh 555 tranny.. etc etc etc..

Anyways. started the tear down recently, found out the old turbo was shot as well So good thing.. I "upgraded"

But yeah, it's nothing crazy like I see some of the projects logged on here.. but I think next year will be 16v swap..

Looking good, i hear ya when you say new block, head etc etc lol.

Will she be running in time for the SDAC meet in Detroit? You are like 4 hours away from what i hear is the greatest car show in the world lol.

Oh man, I wish but no, I learned my lesson before .. you rush it.. it will be worse than a woman scorned!

P.s. I have been watching your project log, black on red is my one colour combo of glh-t that always evaded me.. very jealous!

Any up dates on this? I had almost the same set up in my 87 glhs that you are doing and I can tell you its a blast on the street. Make sure you put a good clutch in the stock clutch will NOT hold at all.
