help with mptune version 2 and ostrich

Im trying to modify my calibration that i got from shelgame, with the ostrich and mptune. I have been able to open the file and compile the bin, but it will not let me burn. the ostrich is on com port 4 and it doesnt seem to be wanting to read it all, but knows its there.

have tried on 2 different computers with same problem. third computer is able to recognize and burn but not compile, so that doesnt work either....

    please help, thx

Re: help with mptune version 2 and ostrich

trying to help out here, we have been able to figure out how to get the cal loaded and edited, still have the comm port error. we can compile the file and do a quick burn with the bin, but cannot just click on the burn tab which is for the on the fly changes.

i havent used this stuff since MPTuner (version 1) so its all a little new to me. if anyone can help us out that would be great.

Does MPtune say the Ostrich is connected, bottom left of the screen?

With no tuning windows open, plug the Ost into the computer, does it recognize it? If not, the drivers are "burned", call or email Moates, I've had 3 replaced for this issue.

yes it says that the ostrich is connected on comm port 4 at the bottom left

but when you go to comm settings it does not recognize any ports.

he is running a shelgame cal, and unfortunately it runs pretty crappy at idle. AFR were in the 10s, and car had 10 inches of vaccuum :O

i got it to 13 inches and idle around 12.0 now that I have played with the cal. the timing curve needed much attention but I still need to figure out how to get more vac and leaner idle. its my old 8 valve setup he is running, I had no issues getting 17-18 inches of vac when i had it on the 2.2 setup which is what he is running. my 2.5 was able to pull 19-20

Are you hitting the quick flash option?

I cant quick flash, this is the problem. I have do it it all manually, by compiling the file into a bin, and then going to the options tab and select quick flash. i cannot actually hit the quick flash button located next to compile??

LOL, never noticed that flash button before, guess it was never high lighted for me, I've just gone to the Misc file and selected quick flash, and now, going to go back to use Emulity to update my Ostrich so less steps involved.

Same as before, everytime you make a change and recompile the cal, it will auto update or just use the quick flash in Misc.
