Any suggestions where to get vinyl paint?

Went to the local paint store to buy some air gun paint so I could repaint my interior. Dupont paint was $125 a quart. Is that right?! Can you buy good quality vinyl paint cheaper? I'll use whatever and will pay whatever, but that sounded a little pricey. The color I want to go with is charcoal. Panels are already that color, but they could use some freshening up.

    SEM
If I remember right, Warm Grey was the color for GLHT panels
Not sure about the best color match for Charcoal, there's alot of greys on the chart.

My local auto paint supplier had a whole rack of the SEM stuff, I think $15/ can
2 cans did the entire interior of my GLHT with a touch still in the 2nd can.
I did mine the week before the last SDAC in Cinncy, still looks like the day I put it on.

Krylon fusion looks like the sweet spot for me.... as long as you can match the color.

Just don't forget to open the door before removing interior parts.

Thanks guys. I'll look at the site and see. I used SEM from a can that matched great, but I wanted to get enough to cover the rear interior sails. I plan to shoot everything, so I want to make sure I don't run out. I'll look through the site and if I have questions, I'll report back.

Lol. It's process 101. Is it plugged in? Did you open the door? Etc.

You can get SEM in bulk too and spray it with a real spray gun. $120 is ridiculousness. The auto paint store here will mix you any color vinyl die for 40/quart.

That's sorta what I was expecting to pay. When he told me $120, I about fell out on the floor. Then he told me that they don't sell the adhesion promoter in anything except aerosol cans, which could be true. But I would be surprised if a company didn't sell it in pre-mix quarts like the paint.

Can they mix colors that are on the SEM site? Looking on there 15303 shows to only come in a can. Can they mix colors that aren't shown to come in volume?

You just take them a panel and they match it to your sample. I am not sure if SEM will mix it though, I was talking about the local place.

Like these guys said Jon. There's a dark gray that I used for the gauge pod in my PT and it's help up great now over the course of three years. SEM is great when it comes to the interior stuff or exterior trim pieces for our cars. I'm pretty sure you can have it mixed in a higher volume can.

Jon, try PPG's lesser priced line of OMNI products. I used those when I dyed interior parts for my Rampage. I bought a quart of black vinyl dye and a quart of adhesion primer for roughly 75 for both.
