Lost the ignition key to one of my minis, what's the best way to get a new one? Take the title and registration to a locksmith?
Thanks,
Guy

OR a dealership. Probably cheaper at a dealership as it's not a service call and won't cost you an automatic $50 or more.
take door lock to a lock smith and cut one from that.
Dealerships around here don't have the info to cut keys 2000 and older. Might have to pull a door lock out and bring it to a locksmith and have them make one for you, as said.

And once you get a new/replacement key made... Get SEVERAL spares cut from it before doing anything else. I think I have 4-5 copies of my shadow key floating around and I use the one original chrysler key I have left from it as a master key for getting spares cut from it (unworn example, not a copy of a copy of a copy ect..)
