so my project is a 1991 dodge daytona shelby,2.5 turbo,i've been slowly working on her for 7 yrs and i'm not happy with what i've done so far for 10,000 bucks she should be a show car! but she's broke and got mold growing on her fenders!! i got cheap on the pistons and she broke a ring!! and some of the piston and maybe the block!!!ok so here we go got some new pics and now the whole bag of tricks that i've been fumbling through!i bought the car from a guy in ocala fl about 8-9 yrs ago it was in his back yard with the hatch open and a bale of hay for his dogs to sleep on and have puppies in from what he told me,he said he had it for 4 yrs and couldn't get a title said he would let it go for 500. he also said it had a blown head gasket,i offered him 300 and he had to check with his wife so i waited and took down the vin no. he came back said no and i left called a buddy that owned a auto salvage ran the vin and found that it had a lien for 250 so i was about to go back and give him the 500 when he pulled up and told me 300 it was mine! so i got it towed it home fresh gas new battery and two injectors later i'm driving my new shelby! that sucker ran like a scalded ape! a week later the title in hand i did a 1-2 gear burn out way past his house and he was pissed at himself for not trying to get the title or not knowing in was just 2 bad injectors! so now to why i'm just as bad as him! i drove the car as is for about 6 months when i had a engine fire from the fuel line(pics of the engine bay show burnt hood and most of the plastic)not knowing when to give up and sell!!!i've spent over 10 grand on this thing and it kills me because i've not had the shop or time to do it right so it's just a piece of ---- car with a bad --- motor!!hoping to change that this yr!!!!ok enought of my life story i'll tell ya about the car!! 91 daytona shelby vin code says 1 of 28 all hiline metallic quartz blue no silver strip solid blue! 2.5 turbo w/568 5 speed,mods i've done are .030 over cast mahle factory pistons(the reason she is broke now!!that and 24 psi boost)t-II rods reworked new bushings,reworked crank,balanced shafts removed,head studs,main studs,cometic head gasket,40% bigger injectors,fully ported intake and exh manifolds,fully ported head 1 mm over valves,double springs,hilift lifters,stage 5 fwd comp,adj fuel pressure reg,new turbo(stock garrett)fresh build on the tranny,new clutch,motor balanced,all apr hardware,innercooler line honed fully race preped block, i've got so much more with the whole car but list is way to long!! so since my little lean run she has been down and i've just been stacking up parts, just got new 3"full exh from turbos unleashed along with new 255 fuel pump devils own meth kit, 2 stage boost controller,huge innercooler and piping,new bov and tubing,so now i just need a few more parts and she can go back together,pistons 3" swingvalve,a/f gauge and some other little parts. now the pics!! here she is had a blow out and it distroyed the rear ground fx(found another )i'm not so good with the electronics so this is going to be a challanging fix for me but i think i can handle it!!
