My father is selling his "GrandPa" mobile. Its a 1985 Dodge Aires 2 door with 23k miles on it. The car is super base with no options what so ever. Manual steering-check
No a/c -check
Bench seat -check
no passenger mirror -check
no radio -check
2.2 carb -check
no tach -check

We got this several years ago from Yogurt_slinger in a package deal. Has been stored and taken to few car shows in that time frame. Only in the last month has the car been turned into a daily driver for the old man. Not entirely sure of his reasoning for selling but any potential buyers are welcome to inquire with him. The only work we have done to the car is to put a new holly carb on it. The reason for this was I had acquired the carb and had no other use for it, plus there was a run issue with the car. Turns out the main line from the fuel pump was leaking and the old man didn't notice before the carb swap. Since its on there and runs good, its staying.

After we noticed/fixed the cobbled to f fuel line coming out of the fuel pump. The car has been quite a nice driver for what it is.

That's funny. I don't remember it leaking fuel when I had it but that was a long --- time ago. It still was a total misery mobile. Good on fuel though.

Someone had stripped the metal fitting for the fuel line and tossed a hose barb in fuel pump side that was too small, then gooped jb weld all around it. Then ran a short section of hose from the barb to the stripped fitting.

Was a total hack azz job.

This would be a perfect candidate to drop a t3 into. I just don't have the heart to do it.

Back in 1983 the 81 I had ran just under 22 seconds in the 1/4....my 3 banger Geo ran 19.9s after removal of 140 lbs!

That sounds a bit dire, even for a 2.2 carb... however, LRE is liquidating a load of oldskool go fast parts, with a lot of N/A stuff, so some of that might get it in the 16s.

81 and 82 had 13 less horsepower. 84 HP wasn't enough to move these cars in any reasonable fashion especially with an automatic.

Because it's low mile and close to creampuff, one should be able to get collector insurance on it... low miler base and boring FWD mopars have gone across the auction block for 5 or 6K.

I see the fuel pacer light. Is this a manual transmission?! I want to see pics!! I know they exist, but never saw one. Good luck with the sale. This should go to someone who will not run it into the ground.
