    Reviving a dead thread.
Has anyone run the Mk II coilovers on an Omni?
The rear struts look quite a bit shorter than the stock L body strut.

shoudktn be that much shorter than the stock stuff. The mk1 stuff is definitly shorter. The vw guys bolt mk2 stuff onto the mk1 to raise them up like two inches so they should be perfect. The mk1 rear bolted right up to my car. The mk1 front would have needed the Spindle machined width wise. The mk2 is supposed to be wider where it bolts to the spacer tho.

I cut the threaded part off of the mk2 strut and trimmed the lbody to height and welded it up. IIRC a minor fit issue at strut mount. Pics details in the build thread i did on the car.

Re: Vw coil overs on a l body?

My 84 Rampage worked out OK with minivan brakes, hubs, and knuckle and P body struts using coilover sleeves for a first gen RX7. Minor filing on the strut was needed to allow the coilover sleeve to fit. This gets you big brakes, 5 bolt hubs and better choice of struts with no machining for strut to knuckle connection.
