Re: 1986 Chrysler Executive Limo Restore

    Good afternoon everyone,

I am new here but could not resist replying to this thread. I own a 1986 Chrysler Limousine and have done so for many years. Mine is blue with blue top and blue leather interior. I noticed that you have a "cooler" in the back where there should be a second jump seat. This is not normal for this car. The switches on the dash for the fan is definately not factory, they did not have any such feature, fortunately your looks good, the person who did that at least cared about what he was doing. The vinyl top should be the same color as the exterior of the car should you ever wish to have it replaced. The partition should have a third piece of glass which is electronically controlled to slide to the right side of the car. I had to dismantle another chrysler limo to make mine work as the motor had failed. As far as keeping the kids in the back of the car to keep from hearing them, forget it, you will still hear them, it just makes it hard to reach back there and smack them. If you have any questions about this can I will be glad to answer them if I have the answer.

I am in search of the three wooden roof supports which keep the interior roof panels raised, one in the front area and two in the rear compartment. If anyone knows where these may be found please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Sirscorp

Where in Florida are you? I've seen a few of these cars over the years and there used to be one on the west side of Jacksonville that looked to be complete.

It's screaming for a TII conversion at the very least.

Sadly I could get everything to do it to probably. But I don't know if I want to do it to the car due to the rarity factor. Plus it could lead to future headaches as far as reliabilty. Who knows though I might get froggy.

Well 100% stock TII parts without cutting corners or turning the wick up should be reliable.

Yea but I would have to screw with the 100 % unmolested harness. That is where it could get into reliabilty issues.

Re: 1986 Chrysler Executive Limo Restore

I have done it several times but... one of my old cars still rings in my head. It was a 85 Black GLHT that i did the conversion too and it would run good one minute and then not the next. Very erratic and plain out pissed me off. Finally sold the thing but never figured out the problem. No codes too. So now I am weary about T2ing log cars if I want them to be able to drive anywhere.
