Two versions of the One Piece Intake?

Question for all of you - I have only seen two (one on a friends Omni GLH and the other on an '88 Shelby Z that I'm bringing home this week) one piece intakes with the firing order cast onto the elbow portion of the intake rather than on the throttle body flange. Were these one year only type intakes? What is the deal with them? What were they supposed to come on? I'll have a pic of mine once I get it home sometime this week.

    There's more differences than that...

I know, for example, that some of the 1-pc intakes have smaller bolt bosses on the inside of the runners. I have a couple of these and grab them up when I can find them. Since I can't port the intake for my racing class, it's the intake to have. If you're porting, it may not matter.

Also, I think some intakes have the EGR provision and some do not.
