Converting 86 LM to 87 LM

working on an 85 omni that was T2 converted with an 86 stage 2 mopar LM for a glhs. Well it has that running a common block 2.5 that will soon have a bigger turbo and a 2 piece intake. What will it take to change the wiring over to the 87 computer so I can actually make a cal for it.

if you are going late LM (external map) and are going to swap cases/keep map in passenger compartment - there's a thread from TD copied here (I think Ken was quoted in it): that thread is wrong about the map wiring. if I remember, ground and signal were reversed. someone else had figured this out, but no one has corrected the very old threads. if you look at the original wiring diagrams, what was posted should seem backwards when you look at it enough (assuming you know electronics). or you could do like me, and try it the wrong way first

if its already converted to 86 TII, you basically just wire in the map sensor for external output and you can run 87.

I thought there was a couple things.. the Power loss/ check engine light...

Adding wires for the MAP of course... (I use the shift light wire and the EGR wire.. Just move them.. add ground underhood.)

and I thought there was something else...

I'm wanting to do the same thing, use an 87 LM to convert an L-body to T2, providing that I can find an 87 LM.

He should have already added wires for the IAC but they could be in a different spot for the 87 computer.

    winner

plus i think you have to move a wire for the speed distance sensor also, which on most peoples cars doesnt work anyway...

and as metioned, ais, tps, and map wires...

Re: Converting 86 LM to 87 LM

so im not sure what to do with the map wires off the top of my head, hopefully someone can chime in, and maybe someone could post the actual location to put the ais/tps wires also just so the info is in the same location. either way this is were the power loss and sds wires go...

power loss-remove wire from cavity 4 of the blue connector and insert it into cavity 4 of the red connector... if there is a wire in cavity 4 of the red connector, remove it and tape it up.

sds-remove wire from cavity 14 of blue connector and insert it into cavity 9 of the red connector
