    help cars stranded!!!!!!!!!

    car was running just fine then next thing i know huge voltage spike and car bucking....pulled over car was dead and no low beam headlights and CEL was wigging out now i have no CEL and can't pull codes.....everything else is working well besides dash lights, turn signals, hazards high beams etc... you name it works

    Unhooked battery thinking may reset computer no such luck car turns over just will not start....and as mentioned no low beam lights or CEL

    car is 93 duster with 88 turbo 2 engine and 88 a413 ran by 90 wiring harness and boostbutton sbec

    Unplug alt, see if it runs on battery... which if well charged, could get you 20 miles with minimal electrics (i.e. in daylight, stereo off, blower off etc)

    I would start checking for blown fuses and fusable links...

    ^^^What he said, drivers side has them all. It sounds like the alt or reg took a dump or a power wire shorted to ground.

    Check all the + terminations in that car

    well I have no clue what it was but have my suspicion....it appears the batteries positive post grounded out against the hood somehow....today the CEL was working and I pulled codes 12 and 55....decided to go ahead and try to start it and sure enough fired right up and everything was perfectly fine....maybe i will just put battery in the trunk

    Also checked all engine grounds and they are good nice and clean and tightly snugged down (its grounding strap kit from FWDP)
