Shelby Charger rear "factory" shocks ??

    Hi All,
This is a long shot, but does anyone have an "original" part number for the long extinct, Shelby Charger rear shocks. I just bought some off ebay for a SC and wonder if I paid too much for basic Horizon shocks, or if I found some old rare "new" shocks. I blew up the picture of them on my monitor until it was the exact same size as a pair of rare L-Body Formula GP's I have. When I held the GP's up to the monitor, It was clear that the perch sat lower on the Mopar shocks. Did I find an old pair? If anyone has an old number from way back before the numbers all got superceded to a "Horizon" shock, please send it my way. I jumped on these fast after I saw where the perch sat as apposed to the Formula's. I didn't want to lose out if they were the real deal.
    Thanks

Be aware though that shocks can die on the shelf over the years, pressure go bye bye, might need to get them rebuilt.

Cool! That's the ones I got. Pretty fast shipping too. I did the "Buy it Now" and received them just 2 1/2 days later. I saw the box by the front door and figured something else I bought over 3 weeks ago, finally arrived. Nope! I got my shocks. I compaired them to my Formula GP's and sure enough, the spring perch is an inch lower. Every shock I've ever put in a Shelby Charger has lifted the rear end. It'll be nice to have the stock height. (without taking out a second mortgage and buying Koni's.

I thought the Konis also raised the rear, as they were the same for both the '86 and '87 GLHS.

I don't know much about the Konis. Both my '87 GLHS's seem to sit at a good level and both still have the original rears. I thought I read something about one of the cars (Omni/Charger) having an adapter for the Konis for that reason. (Same shocks for both years) I don't know where I read that or if it's even true. I never have touched the rears in any of the GLHS's I've owned. I bought an '86 Shelby Charger back in '88. That car sat so nice and felt like a go-cart when it was almost new. I've never been able to duplicate that feel. The Chargers came with really nice shocks and struts from the factory and seems like those parts didn't stick around long after the cars were a bit older. I even bought the whole poly bushing kits from Quickor years ago and new struts and Formula GP rear shocks to try and get that "New" Shelby Charger feel again. I was very disappointed. The rear end just sat too high. That car wasn't worthy enough to spend the $1100 for the (then price) Koni coil-over set-up.
I just hope these shocks are everything I remember. LOL
