Description: This is an electric power steering pump from a MR2 mounted on a bracket and aluminum tank. If you want to install a custom header and down't want to ditch the power steering, here is a solution. Relay, breaker, and ps lines included for install.

I had it installed in front of the passenger tire well.

Man, I wish I could afford that right now! This is exactly what I want!

Did you ever actually run it? If so, did you simply run the pump at 100% duty cycle? I know a lot of people do that with good success. How did it feel compared to a stock pump? How many amps did it pull at max load?

Yes, I've had it on the car since SDAC 2xxx?? (when it was in PA). It was wired to run at 100% full time. I never measured the amp draw, but it worked fine even at idle with an underdrive pulley and small lawnmower battery. The steering effort is slightly higher than the factory pump, but not by much.

I'Ve been thinking of doing this to Cheap Skate every since I removed its powersteering to gain .7 in the quarter and 3 mpg at 55! Parking lots are a bit of a pain, so something like this would work perfect, especially since I still have the stock header on the car. I even thought of hooking up a power switch so that it would only be used for parking....love the unassisted feeling on the road.
