Yes, as long as they are both 2.2's. You'll need to swap over the 89 water pump housing-notch it to clear the block, belt tensioner etc but besides that, they are identical. Use the 88 timing belt setup and crank pulley.

If its an ES turbo its a 2.5. So youll need to run the right cal on it. But otherwise yep.
EDIT: Youll need wiring for your air charge temp sensor too. I feel like I might be missing something else, but generally thats about it. You might have to swap some accessories like the oil pressure sending unit or something so it matches your wire ends.
The charge temp sensor plug is wrapped up in the harness most of the time.
