S10 Air Dam on L-body without GLH spoiler

Is anyone using this air dam without the GLH ground effects? I've got the spoiler mounted and I think it will work ok but was wondering if anyone else has used it without the stock ground effects. Also anyone having contact problems with this spoiler and the road/speed bumps? It looks like it would be ok but info would be nice.

Once upon a time, I posted up a design spec sheet for emergency vehicles, detailing minimum clearances and approach angles which was according to municipal and road department guidelines for speed humps, ramps and breakovers... but it's been a while... and I swear the search is missing a ton of older stuff since last upgrade...

I'm having trouble turning it up, the figures of 17* approach and 12* departure seem to stick in my head though... so.. yah get a plumb bob and from the center of the wheel, make a mark on the driveway where the center of the wheel is, then drop it from the lowest point on the spoiler, measure height H to that point and distance L then you do the

    S\O/H C\A/H T\O/A stuff....

    Tan theta = opposite/adjacent
    Tan theta = H/L
Tan^-1 (H/L) = angle theta... if that's over 17 then you should be good for most stuff on the roads, and built to code lots, but you still might get the odd bastard ramp etc going into private lots.

Big deal if it scrapes. They're what? $2 at the j-yard? I have my license plate bolted to mine as seen here: http://www.pnw-sdac.org/gallery/v/Me...M0052.JPG.html It scrapes the plate every once in a while but oh well.

In the surplus stores here, turned up rolls of a 3M low friction tape, that is like teflon topped duct tape. This stuff is something like $80 a small roll, when you don't find it in surplus stores... anyway, I gots me one for a couple of bucks (And now they're out here before I came up with good uses for it) and I'd figure that using stuff like that on the bottom of an airdam would stop it scuffing or catching. So you could keep an eye out for something similar... they do do teflon topped slider pads or stick on feet in the dollar stores here, but dunno if they'd stay on long, if you just wanted some on the corners to fend off curbs or something, or dot those all the way along.. but they're on a foam pad so might tear off easy.

I bent the top 90 degrees and drilled a hole in the middle that a bolt goes through it and the air dam.

I've got the passenger fender off of the car. When I get it back on there I'll put the air dam back on and snap a pic.
