    FYI
I stopped at Koffel's and talked to Scott about some porting.
Was talking about a friends build, he said you really should convert to RWD.
I told him it's been discussed.
He said I've got a 604 case, welded up, machined, ready to go in the back
All you have to do is install your guts.
I was thinking about asking him if I could see it and take a few pics.

Re: RWD trans to mate with 2.2/2.5

I do have an adapter to mate a 2.2/2.5 to a 904 trans, a few years back after driving my colt daily, completely stock, I sold it to a buddy and told him of my 2.5 turbo/904 idea, he did alot of work on the car and bought an adapter, supposedly the last one, from a guy one the "other site". he had athread going on there, i will try and find it.

couldnt you just weld some ears onto the bell housing you are going to use? or weld them on the block? I havent really thought this through but making a plate looks like alot of work, surely there is an easier way.

I dont see welding ears to a tranny working, or being even remotely strong enough, here is a few pictures of the adapter apart and installed

Bill Hincher does all his own stuff...

and if you go AX15, you can strengthen it with Jeep offroading parts. If they can handle rock crawling, they should be able to take a few hundred horse 4 cylinder.

    FWIW I ran a 4-cyl A535 behind a 318 4-bbl w/ a small cam and it held up.

Last time I checked, there was no difference between the two, only bellhousings and possibly tail housing differences.
