What's the best way to mate a trans to a 2.2/2.5 so that it will go in a vehicle in a RWD configuration? Specifically a Ramcharger on a serious diet.
Thanks.

One from a 2.5 dodge Dakota. Same block.
That would have to be one hell of a diet. 2WD you can use any 87-95 2.2/2.5 dakota trans.
You can also use other transmissions with the 94-95 dakota AX15 bell.
From http://www.jeeps-offroad.com/showthread.php?t=4740 :
The Jeep/Dodge AX15 5-speed, the Jeep NV3550 5-speed, the Jeep NV1500, the Toyota R150F, R151F & R155F, the 87-92 Toyota Supra Turbo R154, the Isuzu AR5 and the Pontiac Solstice\Saturn Sky\Chevy Colorado\ GMC Canyon MA5 5-speeds all share the same case to bellhousing bolt pattern (Large Pattern).
Aren't those dakota bellhousings impossible to find at this point?
I'd like one too for a future rwd project.

There was an adapter to A904 several years ago. Forget who was making them. Dean Stillie is putting a 2.4 in a RWD Daytona w/A904 adapter plate.
looking on car-part there were several hits when searching on 95 dakota.
Thanks guys. It sounds like the Dakota piece is the way to go.
Most of you probably haven't seen this thread.

I would consider the Dakota parts the ideal path, but IF I came across one first and cheap, I might tackle a mitsu RWD trans adaption, since from what all I've been able to find, they're not miles away from fitting, the middle four bolts would seem to match, then it would be a matter of hack and weld to give it top and bottom support and get a starter on it... BUT I dunno if I'd go more than 200HP on one.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but doesn't a trans from a Toyota Supra work as well? His name is escaping me right now but someone here owns a sick Sundance RWD we saw at SDAC 19 (among others). So I believe it can also handle the "load".
Shelby Lancer # 149... R.I.P.
Larry Beauford is his name IIRC (or Beauregard, or something like that), it's a CSX w/ a 2.2? hybrid and a Supra Turbo R154 trans. I would go w/ the R154 or a Solstice/Sky trans, the rest are truck trannies w/ bad ratios for performance. Although if you are putting it in a Ramcharger (retarded if you ask me ) you might need the truck ratios
Yes that's his name!
