    diamante camshafts

    Is there anyone in the southern ohio area that may know of a junkyard with these camshafts available. Ty for the info.

    just use google and call around to some yards and ask if they have the deiemantes with sohc 12 vavle 3.0.

    I understand these cams are slightly more aggressive. However, are they even worth it? Should I look into these or just wait and buy some regrinds later on?

    if giong for a build like you are doing.. id get regrinds. only get these cams if the junkyard owner gives you a good good deal. i might have noticed a 300-400rpm difference in my VE table.

    in my datalogs. duty cycle seems to peak out at my peak TQ. the cams seemed to move the peak tq over a little bit but they still are not even close to a "race cam"

    i never felt them N/A so its hard to say for sure. its just a fun mod

    I, personally, wouldn't bother with the Diamante cams. I have a pair in my car and it is still heavily biased towards a minivan / large car power band (low rpm power). Like Joe ^ said, I'd get some regrind from Crower. What do you expect from the car/motor?

    I agree with most of the decision being on if you get them super cheap and easy.
    My modified 3.0's both have diamante cams in them right now but its not exactly my preference.

    I know this thread is old, but I found the early caravans circa 1988 lift 276 220/220 is had a different part number than the later 96 lift 245-6 185/205. I believe this is the same as the diamantes. I couldnt find any diamantes, so as a fleet managers I started comoaring part numbers. This is probably due to compensating for smaller tb and exhaust in the earlier years. Hope that helps.

    Those cams are not the same as diamante cams. They are slider cams. I'm interested in where you got those specs from though. I've personally measured the lift on the older cams and I came up with a similar number. I think the reason they changed the cam and the TB was to encourage people to choose the 3.3l over the 3.0l. The earlier years actually had a larger 52mm TB. Exhaust was smaller from the doughnut to the cat. 2 1/4" vs. 2 1/2".
