    Re: 89 csx #295

IT'S ALIVE! I think it is a small miracle that the fuel pump still works after 9 years of sitting. The car had no coil, coil wire, or hall-effect. After putting those in and a new battery (all temporarily borrowed from my van).

The bad is i broke almost every plastic vac line while getting to the injectors, (2 of the injectors leak bad).

Does anyone have a good idea for replacing the hard plastic lines?

Well through emails to greg at omnipotentparts.com he said they are hoping to have repo window scrapers soon. He says they have a prototype they need to test and it shouldn't be to long.

Yes! our dash is mostly shrunk on the top where the defroster vent plate meets the dash and it looks like it is a bit shrunk on the right side of the radio and HVAC controls.

On the bright side after looking more closely the plastic trim somehow survived without getting any of that "chalking" deterioration.

It Looks pretty good when it is wet! I drove it out into the driveway to give it a bath! Used a rougher wash pad to try and remove the loose oxidated paint.
Next i need to fix the leaking fuel injectors as it is stinking up my garage! (not to mention dangerous)

ALSO the windows seem to be permanantly foggy tried widex and the soap and water and they still seem dirty.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a hard water remover or glass polish?

Just Bumping up the thread, We replaced the turbo and pressure washed the heck out of the engine bay, making it look pretty good.

We have started stripping it for paint prep, removing the door bumper strips, whats left of the front Air Dam etc.

Just some uploads logging my progress. I removed the side skirts and bumper strips and the tedious removal of the double sided tape.

Also removed the decals and tail-lights trying to prep it to sand for paint.

Here is an email from the previous owner recently asking my friend what spare parts I had for the car.

Getrag A555 five speed gearbox, with (repaired) Shelby 13 tooth pinion final drive (standard was 14 tooth)

according to the Shelby engine vin tag, the car on Craigslist should be 250, not 295

Good eye, technically it's a 72 but it has 71 decals and such cause my Dad liked the 71 style. It is a 440+6 we have fun flogging it and taking it out to local mopar club meets occasionally
