I found this article years ago and clipped it , just stumbled across it last night
30 hand built tube chassis shadows with kevlar and fiberglass bodies (check out the dash in the one pic)
still powered by 2.2 turbo motors
1870 lb cars !!!!! That sounds like a ton of fun

man we need to get any friends we have in mexico to watch out for these! I wonder how long this circuit lasted and if they had any races in other countries
20 blown motors and 10 crashed 1st race I doubt it continued unfortunately
But you'd think something would've had to survive somewhere

Justin Bell also went on to do a lot... including winning FIA GT in viper GTS-R for team ORECA back in the 90s. THOSE were sweet cars that actually WORKED hehe.
Sounds like this race series was a catastrophe because of organizational problems. You definitely dont try to do long races with turbo motors with no testing beforehand.. derp.
