Ebay. Place called BAE, he didn't have any auctions up couple of days ago. There are a couple of other people selling the wheels on ebay now though. Seems like a solid piece even though it is probably chinese.

That guy is brutal, tried to buy something off him, WOULD NOT answer my emails for 3 weeks, finally got back to me, said he was on holidays, asked again, he never got back to me. His feedback is bad,

Must have started doing that after I bought it. I had bought a rebuild kit from him before also.

I got the exhaust housing in today, went and picked up the correct main and bedplate bolts (I apparently ordered 2.0 ones the first time), and the new rod bolts. I still need to run over to another dealer to get the bedplate sealer as it is on national backorder.

Here's some pics of the header and the new exhaust housing.

And here is a comparison of the stock garrett wheel to the H1C wheel

    Love that header,

How did they secure the v-band adapter to the housing? Can't see any welds.

Haven't figured it out. The v-band is welded on the inside but it looks like it's just welded to a piece of pipe that is in the housing. Unless they welded the pipe to the housing and slid the v-band over it so you can't see the weld.

That's what I thought, couldn't see any welds from the pics,

Re: Probably pretty preposterous van project

Started putting the 2.4 together. The oil pump didn't have a seal and I didn't see a felpro number so I drove all the way across town yesterday afternoon to get one from a dealer, just to find out the crankshaft seal kit I ordered and picked up this morning had one in it. Read online after I put the pump on to pack it with grease so you don't get aeration. I installed the pump then filled it with oil and spun the crank over a few times, hopefully that's good enough.

Had to modify the stratus front engine mount bracket to fit the SRT tensioner. I just hacked off some of the offending area so it would fit.

Also set the head on top and mocked up the header and a couple different options on intakes I have. One is a 2.4 caravan intake and the other is the stock 420A manifold. Seems like the runners are about the same length so I will probably stick with the 420A so I don't necessarily have to make a plenum right way.

Yeah I'm trying to keep up the pace of at least doing something every day or every other day so I don't end up rushing stuff to get it done by June. I actually would like to be done by the middle of may so I can try and tune it and get it out to the track before SDAC.

Re: Probably pretty preposterous van project

So I took the head in and had them clean and resurface it so I knew it was worth spending money on, so next step is cleaning up the runners and it goes off to the coaters along with the turbine housing.

What are you getting coated on the head? The combustion chambers?

Yeah, they told me to leave the valves out so they could do the exhaust ports too. I assumed all they would so is the chamber and valve faces.

Re: Probably pretty preposterous van project

I always thought about doing that but shipping would make it not worth it.
