OK, so they are actually slightly different - the CB is 237.8mm and the SRT-4 is 238.1mm. But the 1st gen 2.4 is the same as the CB - 237.8mm. My engine is from a '99 PT (NA), so it's the 1st gen design and the same as the CB.

Ordered the new exhaust housing for the turbo. Went and picked up a rebuild kit and had the wheels balanced. Probably tear into it tomorrow.

Holset. I plan on detailing the rebuild info and making a separate thread for it.

Well, I helped get it 99.9% removed I guess.

It looked pretty much like this when I left...

WH1 or H1C? According to the old KC article, the WH1 is the same as the HX35, the H1C is different and has a huge a/r, 18-21 cm2., but if not, that's another option for turbo's.

The wheels measurements are the same. H1Cs had 3 (?) different wheel options. This one came off a ford diesel pickup. It *had* an 18 cm2 divided housing on it but I have another housing coming for it.

I rebuilt the turbo yesterday, I just have to torque the nut down and put the housings back on. Dropped the pistons off at the coating place today. Ceramic on top and anti-friction on the skirts. All my bolts from the dealer should be in in the next couple of days. Need to get the head cleaned up and off to the machine shop and then the coaters.

Nice, that should spool very nicely. Considering putting a .63 on mine.

Re: Probably pretty preposterous van project

Yeah guy on ebay is selling housing for the HX35/H1C and also the HX40.

Total investment in this turbo is pretty good.

    $40 for the turbo
$62 for a new compressor wheel
$52 for a genuine Holset rebuild kit
    $30 for the balance
    $210 for the new housing.
