I'm cleaning up a new head for my daytona. it's a 2000 2.4 stratus head. The exhaust bowl has a large hump in it just under the valve. Is this something I should be smoothing out or did the factory put this there for a reason?

That hump is your EGR valve. It blocks the flow of exhaust so it cannot get out. Of course removing it would eliminate the EGR effect the factory intended, but would dramatically improve flow (and performance!).

Make the CSA as uniform as you can throughout the exhaust port. I removed it obviously.

Wow Steve...that's dyno plot looks outstanding. I love how it holds power all the way through. Is this still with the FM E1 and stock cams?
Yes Pat, same E1 with stock cams. No inflated numbers from boost spikes, timing spikes, or leaning it out to the edge!
