Need help locating clutch hardware and tranny rebuild kit on 568

    2 part question,

    1st part
I am looking for new hardware because I bought the car without.

I need pressure plate bolts, flywheel bolts and if there is a ring/spacer for an 8 bolt flywheel.

My application is a 91 568 bolted to a 90 common block 2.5 I am bolting up a TU purple PP, 6puck plate combo to it, I did not see any such hardware offered on the site TU site, but if you guys can point in the right direction that would be great.

    2nd part

If I was to rebuild my 568 is there a kit available for purchase that is recommended and or any upgrades that I should have while rebuilding it? Aprox mileage is 175K with unknown knowledge of rebuild prior to buying. I never drove it but was told the PO drove it around until issues with 16v motor. What are the weak points if any in the 568's?

    Thanks guys

PP bolts are simply 8x1.25, any auto parts store. The vendors carry flywheel bolts and there isn't any spacers.

The 568 is pretty strong, all that's available is rebuild kits, IE synchro rings, bearings, seals, no hard parts and LSD's. I sell the rebuild kits and "badassperformance" is making fork pads out of a better material.

Weakness in the 568 will be the open differential and doing lots of one wheel burnouts can cause the differential pin to eject from the carrier and break the case. New updated pin and adding the case saver tabs will greatly reduce the chances of that happening. Or install a LSD to get rid of the factory differential all together.

    Hey Ken,

Living in connecticut you are fortunate to live close to one of the best trans rebuilders in the country. Contact Cliff Ramsdell on the board here. If he doesnt have a spare set of pressure plate bolts, I can set you up with those.
