    Frozen

Well my daily driver acclaim has had its first failure. its -34c without any windchill effect and she cant start. I dont hear the fuel pump priming.

Ive got the block heater plugged in, along with a space heater "radiant type" sitting under the gas tank.

going to let that sit for half a hour, then maybe try a propane torch on the relays.

    any better ideas?

    Re: Frozen

Get some 99% isopropyl alcohol or isoheet and dump it in the tank, i bet you've got water dropping out of the ethanolated fuel and freezing... might need to heat the filter also.

Don't use a methanol based gas line antifreeze/drier, they interact funny with the ethanol and end up holding less water in solution (i.e. more coming out and being freeze susceptible)

So just give it some heat for a while and kick the tank if you hear no prime, jolt the pump into action (Could be a coincidental failing pump that just decided the fuel was a mite too thick for it this morning)

Oh, and buy Petro-Canada gas they're the only ones who're really serious about making it Canada proof.

    Re: Frozen

    there we go, all fixed.

I unfroze the fuel system, installed new plugs and she fired right up.

I believe the problem is the asd or a relay is sticking. moisture inside maybe.

    Re: Frozen

    Did you heat the relays?

Most likely as RW said, water kinda froze up the pump.

Ha, its getting going! Wouldnt running some E85, say 1/8 tank to top of the top be helpful..??..it would absorb tank water and brun it. Then some high test?
