Personally, I wouldn't pull the framing outa the hatch, from what I've read over the years, it seems to need it for rear bodyshell rigidity. (Which tightening up the latch might help if it's sloppy) ... but you could attack it sensibly with a holesaw.... or cage the thing then reduce it to basically a skin.

I got to see what I am gonna do, I know its heavy, just dont know how much i can get out of it. The wheels were on a laser on cl, I gave him a 100 bucks and some shinny crab wheels of my K coupe for them, I did the deal over the phone and got there and they had brand new 205-60-15's on them, my tires were shot! I stripped the clear off them for now, gonna have them polished here soon

I had my p-body down to about 2065 ish. gut the doors as they are heavy because of the reinforcement bars in them. going lexan really isn't going to save alot of wieght but if your counting everything then go for it.
If you back-half the car then you could prolly get it down to 2k

I would keep all the interior plastics that you can find a use for. I am wanting to buy some because they weigh nothing and I don't like Police asking questions. The noise makes things 1000x worse. Ruining a car to save 300 pound sucks.

Ok, got the shadow running and driving for a couple weeks now, got some street miles on it and everything seems well, I havent weighed it yet but it seems really light, I ran it for the first time on Friday night, best pass on 15psi was 13.16@104.5, by the end of the night it ran 105.84, but the et was 13.21, auto trans to come soon! here is a video, ignore everything after the pass, forgot to shut off gopro

best 60ft. was a sucky 1.96, 8.45 @ 83.84 mph in the 1/8, these are all off of the same pass, the first pass, I just cant wait to run it with an auto in it. Keep in mind this car has a stock weak clutch in it, hence the import shifting!
