I couldn't believe it when I saw this ad pop up in my daily ebay automatic search...... but it did.

Good luck with the sale Mark! It has to be one of the top 86 GLHS' out there! Wish I had the extra money and desire to own another!

I hope it brings the top dollar it deserves. Someone's getting an original looking car with the power of a super60!

Hey NADA...looks like Marcus sold his 86 GLHS for $16,750. Make sure you add that to your "accurate" tallies.

Is that the most ever paid for a numbered Shelby Car, not counting the suspect Barrett Jackson car a few years ago?

I hope to see it at SDAC and other events throughout the year. Congrats Marcus and sorry to see it leave your possession.

Yeah, I'm sad too..... but hopefully, the new owner is as passionate about that car as Marcus was.

    thanks guys.

i spoke w/ the new owner today for a few hours, he seems like a true car guy, owning 11 collector cars at this time, this will be his first shelby dodge. i have a good feeling he will take very good care of the car.

he is in the Detroit area. he is getting a really great car at what i think is a great price for him.

I can, that car was the best representing 86 GLHS that anyone has probably ever seen.

Not the price - the fact that Mark actually sold the car! He once told me he was going to be buried in it...LOL!

Its great to see car collectors getting into our hobby, especially ones with cash-o-la! He's gonna love the Shelby Dodge, watch it be the favorite of his collection, all he has to do it drive it.

Bill I have no plans to replace the car, as I am in the process of building a new house in NH and moving out of this tax-crazy CT. I've always wanted a 1968 or 1970 Hemi Road Runner, that is likely my next purchase. But those wont be as fun as that GLHS was, maybe a close second though. Can I still stay in the NE SDAC club or am I ejected now?

your always part of this chapter marc. although, i have to say, its time for you to have a "project" car that you can beat on and race and have fun with.another beater omni or shadow? You couldnt really do that with the glhs, right?

I ordered a new one (red, automatic) Jan 1998, got it June '98, sold it August '99......then I ordered another one (black, 6-speed) in April of 2000, got it June 2000, sold it Aug 2001.

So, after owning two LS1 WS6 Ram Air TA's I can say with experience: the cars are just horrible. And, I do not own a gold chain, wife-beater t-shirt, or have a mustache, so I wasn't a good match for a TA. I'm more of an Omni kind of person.

Bill I am taking a break from racing for a while until I re-locate then its game-on. See you at LVD though.

There are more parts available for a Hemi RR. than a Shelby Omni...... not as unique though.

That would be a great replacement for your car.

Good luck with finalizing the transaction.

Is the new owner having it shipped or is he coming ou to drive it home?

Sorry to see it go Mark, but happy to hear it'll have another great home. Good luck with the move.
