1986 Shelby GLHS, Connecticut, Revised March 12, 2012

    Date: 12th March 2012
    Username: Marcus86GLHS
    Full Name: Mark
City, State, Zip: Ellington, CT 06029
    Contact: markglhs@aol.com or (860) 684-9956
    Selling or Wanted Price: $17,500.00

I am moving and no longer will need to keep my GLHS. I purchased the car from the 2nd owner in Dec/2001 with about 35,000 miles and I have accumulated about another 4,500 miles since then. The car runs, drives, and operates perfectly and needs no mechanical repairs. The interior is as nice as it gets on these cars. The paint is mostly original, not perfect, but shines brightly and is very good. There is zero rust anywhere. This GLHS has lived a pampered garage-kept life since new. I have put much time and money into improving the car’s appearance and performance. Only the best parts and methods were acceptable.

Information on the work I did to the car and dozens of detailed pictures can be found at this website:

    http://www.cardomain.com/ride/632619/1986-shelby-glhs

The most recent pictures of the car’s condition are on pages 14-23.

Marcus, your thoughtful approach to these cars will be missed.
The car is good, very good; you are as good as the car.
    John Laing

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."
    -- Justice Antonin Scalia

    Gorgeous car!

Random question - what floor mats are you using? Just picked up an '86 GLHS myself and she didn't have any floor mats.

    Re: 1986 Shelby GLHS, Connecticut

thanks. I believe all the 86 GLHS's were shipped to the dealers w/o any floor mats since the only way to get factory mats in any Omni was to order the car w/ the Protection Group, which none of the GLHS car received. The front mats in my car are aftermarket Ford Mustang mats. Not sure if these are still being made. I have NOS Omni mats in the rear floor on my GLHS.

Shelby did sell his own special floor mats for the GLHS thru his catalog but did not put them in the car at his Whittier plant. Finding a set of NOS or nice condition "Shelby" mats for the 86 GLHS is like finding the Holy Grail.

Thanks for the insight. Do you recall where you bought the Mustang floormats?

Beautiful. This is Dr. Mike answering a page from WES!! TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many projects. Hard to just watch one like this go by. But I got lucky this weekend and picked up a 91' Red Spirit R/T with Holset turbo mod AND running for $800 with winter tires on the front out of Marrietta, OH. Needs to have the green scum washed off of it. STILL looking, always looking!!!!! GOOD LUCK with a beautiful GLHS!!!!
