Which dimple to use to make shifter cable holes?

In the floor of my Reliant, there are three dimples on the floorboard where the shifter cables are supposed to go through. My question is, what is the hole supposed to look like, i.e. are there two separate holes for the cables to run through, or one big one with a cover up plate to seal it. I also need some pics if anyone has some. I want to do it right. Thanks for the help.

I don't know if this will help you since I have a different car, but here is a pic of my shifter cables: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...6_07150010.jpg

Yeah, on the earlier bodies, the not-quite-center hole is the big hole where the cables go through and the plug fits in. The other two are for the bolts that hold the bracket that holds the plug in. Later models have two larger holes and the cables have these weird grommets on them.

If you don't have the stock plug, you could just drill two larger holes and fashion your own somehow.

Anybody have any pics of what the hole looks like? I may just make a hole and design my own plate to lock the hole off then.

I used an 1 1/4" hole saw and filled it with black rtv around the cables. I later went to the junkyard and got a plug but it didn't fit the hole so I stayed with the rtv. It makes the car stink for a couple of days but it works well.

Yea I just used a computer desk hole plug, you know the plastic ones with the pop out thing in the center. I put the plug in, the cables through and trimmed the center thing to fit with the cables in. Then I used seam sealer on the outside and on any cracks that would let air/moisture in. Seams to seal well, and works great.
