Cool 86 NYer 4dr Turbo (57k miles) in WI

    Date: 23rd December 2011
    Username: moparjon2007
    Full Name: Jon Scarpace
City, State, Zip: Germantown, WI (just northwest of Milwaukee)
    Contact: jon.scarpace@gmail.com
Selling or Wanted Price: $1950.00 OBO

Description: Alright, here it is, my 86 NYer Turbo, has all options on the car
    Ice blue Ext,
Deep blue Leather interior with dual power front seats,
    2.2L Turbo 57k original miles,
Fresh tune-up including pickup coil and Magnacore Wires
Auto level rear suspension (compressor works and pass fills correctly but not drivers side, could be just cracked line),
Has digital dash (works) and digital auto temp control (blows only cold, Arizona parts had one for around $50),
Still sitting on 14in steel wheels with wire caps and centers (needs tires but was planning on using different wheels),
No rust on car at all, only one small blemish on drivers front fender that I think can easily be pulled out, can drive anywhere, was originally sold in NC, made its way to PA by original owner and I bought here in WI.
If I don't sell it I'm driving it to SDAC-22.

    PRICE DROP! $1950.00 OBO!!!

The above details are not optional. This is to protect buyers... just put yourself in their shoes.

I have a 1985 twin in MN that just turned 60K yesterday. Mine's white with blue leather. Does yours have 12 button nav? Nice car! free bump

I believe the 12 button was only an option in 84 and 85 on the New Yorker.

You sure it's the ATC control unit that's bad and not the actual servo on the blend door? I had the servo fail in one of my cars before.

It's the unit, all other functions work properly except switching from cool to warm. Doors, and fan operate as they should. Stays full cold full time.

Right. My old LeBaron did that too, turns out the cold/hot blend door servo was the issue. I got into a nasty accident after finding out so I never fixed it.

I had the exact same problem with my old 89 Lebaron GTC and it was the blend door motor on the bottom of the heater box. It's a common problem with the 86-90 ATC systems. You should be able to use the ATC systems onboard diagnostic test to find out for sure.

I know what you mean but you can hear the door "pop" when going to full heat or to full cool like a manual cable heater unit..

And after seeing Barrett-Jackson lot #1 (83 LeBaron Mark Cross 'Vert 2.6L) sell for $6600.00 maybe I should be swing $5500.00 for this car.

Barrett-Jackson prices are hardly the norm, and if people aren't beatin down your door at $2400 OBO, imagine response at $5500. Free bump for nice car!

Thanks, and come spring I will address the issues the car has as I have time, but the price will become a little more firm the more work I put into it...
