    Re: lengel's spirit r/t progress

Its not every day you see an intercooler that was built with the actual install in mind.. Cool to see.

That's what I did anyway. I have a 1x3" rectangular tying the chassis side of my front motor mount to the K frame. It runs directly under the engine/trans mating area, so we also fabed a plate to bolt in between, with a rubber engine mount from a B-van to act as a drivetrain limiter.
That sounds really interesting, have you posted pictures of the setup before somewhere? I dont want to hijack this thread with it but if there were pics of different mount setups for comparison purposes i could hardly complain..

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Looks great as always Adam. Your machining and Brian's fabrication is a perfect combo. So what exactly am I looking at in this picture?

Thanks guys! I still have a few things to wrap up on the car, but it should be ready rip this spring!

Yes your right. There is no more adjustment side to side. He centered the drive train before the he made the mount. The engine is still in the stock location. We had talked about rotating the engine and decided it was not worth the extra work.

Not running yet. I looking forward to seeing what a 600lb weight loss will feel like!

Thanks DJ. This is just a pic of where the tube lower rad support ties into the frame rail.

Beautiful. I have been thinking about doing something similiar to my Shadow. Was your reasoning behind doing it to enhance strength?

Adam - I just caught this thread by chance not realizing you had pics of the Omni in here now. I'm a good friend of Greg's, I'll let him know about the pics, I'm sure he'd be interested to see the progress, he just doesn't get on here much. The work is outstanding. Looking forward to seeing this in person.

Haha! I was referring to the weight difference between the spirit and the omni. It should be around 600lb I think?

Thanks Pat! Going this route we could remove the stock front mount letting us fit the rad, and IC a lot nicer (dropping them lower). That was the main reason, but it also made everything a lot more ridged/solid. It seemed to solve all of the problems we were running into.

    Re: lengel's spirit r/t progress

I would think 600lbs to be a very good guess. I bet most Spirits are around 3150 or so. 4 door turbo L bodys are abotu 2500 or a little more depending on options.

I just realized. There are FOUR blue glut's within 4 hours of each other. Len gel's, Carroll's, Fishcleaner's, and mine. We NEED to schedule a meet this springtime or something and go haunt a track.
