Its a 2.4 steel crank for a common block, The rod journal were turned down to use a 2.2 rod. It originally had small block chevy rod journals. When the engine was put together the first time the builder never balanced it. After it was rebuilt and balance the shop said the crank was out 16gram. (i think)

Its a Monster Clutch twin disc for a srt4 rated for 800hp. I have the steel version which weighs 19lb, they do offer a aluminum version and the total weight of that is 16 I think. There are a few modifications that need to be done to use it in our cars.

I dont daily drive the car, but the last two weeks I dorve it to work to break in the clutch, and one can had about 3 ounces of water/oil in it the other can had nothing.

    Re: lengel's spirit r/t progress

I have been finding myself holding the couch down when I get home from work, and not making the progress i would like on the car. So im making a winter to do list/upgrade list.

    1) weld cracked head ( This one is done thanks to Jackson. Thanks Man!)
2)1/2" head studs (head is drilled and block is tapped)
    3) Fab a turbo suport bracket (done)
    4) Level 5 drive shaft shop axles (need to be installed)
    5) New fuel tank modified for a intank A-1000 Brian slowe modified the tank, and did a great job! Thanks Brian! (needs to be installed)
    6) hard stainless fuel lines feed and return (need to be made and installed)
    7) 4" exhaust (needs to be made and installed)
    8) 24.5x8.5 slicks (need to buy them and a set of wheels for them)
    9) Reeves Racing-Scatter Shield (Thanks for making these for us James)

These are the major things being done to the car this winter. I hope!

List isn't too long and it looks like you already have a # of things checked off!

If I can't make SDAC to see it in person, I really want to hear about how well your set-up goes down the track! (was really hoping to be there for this in perticular )

    Re: lengel's spirit r/t progress

Yeah its not long, its just getting the motivation to get it done! Anyway this week I have been working on the fuel system line I decided to with goodridge 811 braided teflon line over the stainless hard line. The stainless hard line would have been alittle cheaper (not by much), but ALOT more work. Tonight after finishing up the fuel line install, I droped the tank back out to give it a coat of paint, and snaped a picture of it. Brain slowe did all the fab work and I machined up the mounting ring.

teflon braided lines is where its at yo!!! 40% lighter then its SS brother, and also MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to work with when putting your fittings on. oh and it is also WAY more flexible and not prone to kinked lines like the stainless.....

Holy crap that tank is chock full of awesome. On my Spirit R/T, I modified the original fuel pump hangar assembly for -6AN in/out because I disliked those factory quick disconnects and tiny fuel OEM fuel lines. I cut out all the OEM fuel hard lines and had 3/8" steel tubes welded in with Summit AN adapters. But damn, your tank is How to Do it! Way better than an aftermarket fuel cell anyday imo.

    Thanks!

Yeah I had a fuel cell in it, and it work fine. I just didnt have much useable trunk space(got room for the slicks now), and I didnt like the idea of 16 gal of gas right behind the back seats. Upgrading to braided teflon line was not cheap but worth every penny. I had summits braided fuel line in it before running from the cell to the rail (feed and return) and I couldnt keep the car in my garage. It would make the whole house smell like gas. Now with the teflon no stink at all. Oh and this goodridge 811 hose is great the bend radius is almost as good as the summit line.
