Nice!
Nice!
YES!!! LOL. Way more torque steer than normal. Actually Alan Alan, Alan, Alan and Warren Hall were riding with me on a trip back from Hospitality Night at SDAC in Detroit (the first one). We were trying to get a old Mopar Muscle Car (can't remember if it was a charger or a challenger) to mess with us light to light and he wouldn't do it. Finally we gave up and hammered it and jumped over about 3 lanes by accident. That night, when putting the slicks on in the hotel parking lot for the drag race the next day I saw that bushing out and all the slop. We put it back in and bent the end over and I replaced the rack when I got home as I couldn't find that bushing.
Also, recently, my neighbor Brad Morris (MorrisPower) had the same thing happen on his K based manual rack in his 89 Daytona CS.
I'd greatly appreciate one for each side if you have the time!
Car looks AWESOME on those 26's.....and those wheels tho!

I melted one of those manual rack bushings once by running my old LeBaron with no downpipe off of the turbo. The exhaust got the rack hot enough that it melted that bushing out of it. I had another one made out of Delrin by a local guy. Worked great.
Finally got out on the 26s! First pass of the day i took easy to make sure the slicks did not rub any where. put 10lbs in the tires and set the boost to 10lbs. It went a 11.89 @115 with a 1.773 60' and tires didnt rub.
2nd pass put race gas in, set tire pressure to 8lb and boost to 20lbs, and it went 10.86@126.85 with a 1.662 60'
3rd pass tire set at 7.5lbs and boost at 26lbs, and it went 10.499@133.13 and a 1.648 60'
4th pass tire set at 7lbs and boost at 29lbs and it went 10.56@115 with a 1.640 60' This pass my shifter cable clip came off in 3rd gear so when i went to 4th I had no 4th
5th Pass fixed the cable (had a extra C clip) tires set at 6.5lbs boost set at 29lbs and it went 10.45@133.83 with a 1.625 60' This was a new PB for the car.
Not sure why the car didnt pick up MPH from the 26lb run (3rd pass) to the 29lb run (5th pass) This is something i will be looking into. All in all a good day!
Adam
Dang! Nice work Adam!!!

Man that's moving! Nice times!
What was your 1/8th mph on the 10.499 pass? I'm kind of surprised the car is only gaining 25mph in the second half of the slip you posted.
Still, awesome results! 115mph on 10psi is pretty dang sweet too.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
High difference between 1/8 and 1/4 can often be attributed to not putting power down on the short track, either because of a lack of traction or driver issues assuming a decent powerband in each gear. If you solve those problems, the MPH gap gets smaller.
26's on really low tire pressure probably have the ability to chew up quite a bit of HP. I bet tire growth increases as tire pressure drops. Taller tire is harder to accellerate. 1.5 psi is not normally much of a difference but its like 20% less pressure at the levels he was already at.

6.5 psi in 26" slicks and no breakage! Priceless!!!!!!
Really happy for you my friend, as that says your powertrain in in it's sweet spot And you are launching it right!
I would need to look back on your fastest 24" slick runs, but it is typical to lose 3-5mph going from 24's to 26's, specially when you air them down that low, as Brent already pointed out.
Why you didn't pick up any more mph going up 2 psi? Slight boost leak somewhere?
Can you post your 10.49 slip for comparo?
Best part of it all.....congrats on the new PB!!!!!

Did you need to run the slicks that low on PSI? If you aren't losing traction at higher air pressure levels in the slicks, why air them down more than you need to? That could account for part of the reason you didn't gain MPH. Also makes it more "loose" on the top end with low air pressure in the slicks. Your 60' times really didn't change going from 8lbs of pressure to the 6.5lbs. I'd probably try running the 29lbs of boost on 10psi tire pressure and see what happens. But that's just me. You probably have more experience with tire pressures and your car to go off of.
Thanks guys! Here is the 10.499 slip. Highest mph on the 24.5 is 141 at 29lbs of boost.

Were you WOT shifting? Looking at the 10.69 run from SDAC on the 24's, the combo def likes the gearing Better down the track, and hey, almost Every other set-up would as well. When you put on 26's you Gain from better traction and lower ET, but you need to Make More Power to overcome the loss at the high end. (lack of gearing)
Add to this that lack of gear hurting you for keeping the turbo spooled between shifts and I can see where you would need to be running sig. more boost!
Were you shiting High in the RPM where you were with the 24's? Just checking because first time out on the 26's you may have been taking it a little easier even if you weren't completely aware of it at the time. (know what I mean?)

Well looking at this old slip I suppose Brent is onto something. It sounds kind of crazy but the floppy 26s really might be eating all that mph. :O
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
It's all about the Complete combo, with big turbine and a powerband that Needs all the gear it can get, Yes, the 26's can eat mph more than one would think. The benefit is look at the Much improved ET on that lower mph.
I still suspect that there may be something else going on. (shifting lower in the PB ect)
Adam, how much boost were you running at SDAC on the 10.69 run?
