    So this is now an SRT-4 inner modified to bolt to a Porshe setup?

    Can I ask why you think it's breaking axles so much? Is there an underlying problem here thats being overlooked (no offense intended, just asking)? What axles does Reeves or David Rose run, they don't seem to have this many axle issues.

    I only ever broke two axles. With the 24.5" slicks I never broke a axle. Stepped up to a 26" slick and broke the passenger side DSS axle. I really didn't want to give DSS any more of my business so I tried to come up with my own solution being the srt4 axles with my own shafts, and these failed horribly. I feel the reason these failed so bad is due me not knowing what I was doing with the design, and heat treat of the shafts. So that bring us to now. I know for a fact that Reeves has axle problems as well.

    Gotcha. I definitely understand not wanting to give DSS anymore business.

    Yeah I was referring to the stock(ish) setup not this SRT4 venture.

    When I took the trans out I took notice to how much play the axle had, and thought this can't be good when the car launches . So I made a new diff bearing retainer that houses a radial ball bearing and new seal. I also had to turn some of the axle down for a new sealing surface. There is now no play at all.

    I believe that is going to help more than you think. I think axle movement/slop at the splines are a huge part of why we snap them in the diff. Awesome work, Adam!
