Question Weighted axle vs. no weight replacement axle

Thought I remembered this being covered at some point, but couldn't find it looking through search results. Car: Slugmobile, 89 T1 auto, unequal length axles. The drivers axle had the weight bolted on mid axle. Just completed installation of rebuilt trans (to include new peloquin LSD), and rebuilt (Dynamic Converters)torque conv. New axles purchased from Rock Auto were EMPI 801967 and EMPI 801968 . The driver's axle has no weight. And these were NEW axles, not remans. Any thoughts on if this will be of concern? With the LSD, I guess it may not matter, but the weight was there to help counteract the different in axle weights off left and right, correct? Thank you!

It was there to help with vibrations.

Equal lengths even didn't have them on both sides all of the time.

Take the weight off and set it aside. If you have a funky vibration, install it and see if it helps.

I've run cars both with and without the weight and have never noticed a difference.

It was most likely for a NVH thing, so if you have them, leave them, if you don't, don't loose sleep,

    NVH?

I tried walking back through time to remember, and figured it might not be a big deal. The new axles look a little different, and I don't think I could even install the weight on the new axle (if I remember right I thought the axle was different diameter. I know the long axle was definitely smaller diameter.
I'm sure the new stuff is balanced, so I probably won't notice any problem. And it's an auto, which is generally easier on axles than a manual.

    Thanks for the inputs!
    Cheers!
