Guess this was a 1986 Dodge Shadow for the 1987 model year.......
Anyone know more about the hood vents?

I've seen a pic of an 87 shelbyZ with a vent in that location as well. Guess they nixed the idea when they actually started producing them. BASTARDS!
Thanks for posting the pic. I might have seenthat one. Obviously an 87 prototype car as the pic says. I do not think they ever made it to production. Maybe the parts manual for 87 would show it if it did?

JT, yes it was a prototype piece, I was told that hood didn't have the water/air diverter on it and they nixed the idea because of cost and space issues with the valve cover and the impending blow through intake that would have negated the vent all together.
Alright, I'll put my 2 pennies in the "obvious jar" and chime in here.
If you want one, I'm willing to bet that it's the same vent from an Omni GLH-T, and with a spare hood, and some welding skills, 2 can be made into one, and thus the vented Shadow hood can be recreated.
A Lancer vent also works very well in a daytona hood.
So on this Shadow....
Chrysler probally snipped out the center of a GLH hood, and placed it on a Shadow hood.
With a little bit of bondo and paint, you have a vented hood.
Wonder how many of these vented cars Chrysler made, and if they are still around.
Seems like I saw a picture of a 86 Aries, with GLH hood vents too.
Joe that would be the government issued Wagons.

The Plymouth and Chrysler T&C wagons got the two vent hoods but the Dodge K Wagons got the L body style one vent hood.
plymouth wagons didn't come with turbo except the Govt. issue ones. so they're the only ones with the lbody style vent.
