Rampage subframe connectors / chassis reinforcement.

I just brought home an '84 Rampage today, and like most of them I've seen there is plenty of rust in the driver's side floorpan. I previously had an '80 024 that was very similar in the floorpan rust department. With this Rampage, I'm trying to visualize a good way to make some subframe connectors, which would weld to the front subframe mounting points, and tie in to a cross-piece which would be attached to the front of the rear-spring mounts.

Eventually, there will be a roll cage installed, but I'd like to have a good solid base to attach the cage to.


I'm sure there are people who have done this kind of chassis reinforcement on a Rampage before. Any advice would be appreciated.

For what you are shooting for, you also want to streamline the underside once you get it patched.

Sounds like you would want a good cage built to tie everything together.

Here's a link to my build thread. The cage is all done, and the truck is back together. With respect to streamlining the underside, unfortunately it's not allowed for the class(es) I'm running.
