Well its alive after dam near pulling out my hair with the elec problem i had, it would not prime fuel pump or have spark. I swaped heps, traced alll wires from LM to power module, added more grounds and when i put my test light in the DLC on the blue/yellow wire the fuel pump would run and the power module would come to life. I socketed my Lm for a new cal i ordered and had these problems. I swaped out LM's and it runs perfect! I had to turn the fuel pressure to 25-28 psi to get the 72lb injectors to idle 14-15.0 with a Stage II Lm lol.
I pm'd Rob about the cal i got and he is sending me a new one asap, now thats service i tell ya.
I still have not drove it yet but dam it sounds mean, i will pull the turbo off in the morning and wait for the rebuild kit to come in the mail.
Sweet.

Pretty fast work for a guy who recently graduated from a wheel chair!! Are you pulling the head to rebuild the turbo?? I have a gasket if you need one and I just remembered I have a Holset rebuild kit somewhere in my stash if it would ever be the right one. What part # did you order, I'll check mine to see what # it is. Anything else you need, let me know and I'll see if I have it.
Thanks
Randy

Ya its a rough go, the doctors said i would never be able to walk very good or at all. Alot has changed since then but it was sure alot of work to get where iam at now. If dic keeps stretching and pushing himself he will get back to where he was before the mishap.
I pulled the head off today because the header flange at the head was leaking and i dont want any leaks.
Randy was nice enough to give me a stock exhaust mani and all the gaskets i need to get this engine running again, Thanks Randy and when the new gaskets come in i will replace the ones i got from you. Over the winter i will build a header that locates the turbo in front of the master like forcefedmopars omni.
I did alot since last post, such as pull the head back off and throw that header in the garbage. It was leaking inbetween the spacer, I got a stock manifold from Glhs60 and ported/tapped new holes for the holset pattern. I had installed mopar performace 318 viton valve seals, before i pulled the head off there was alittle bit of smoke from the exhaust.
I put stock style valve seals in and rebuilt the turbo, reinstalled everything and no more smoke lol. Its still on jack stands but will be on the ground after work. That header cost me alot of time and grief i tell ya, I never would have thought swaping out a header for a ported manifold would make the car engine sound different. It sounds louder for some reason.
Million dollar question, does it look like you needed to massage the firewall with the stock exhaust mani?
(crosses fingers)
Yup i had to, i think i pushed it back 1.5 inches or was it 1 inch. I cant remember rite now sorry.
WOW is all i gotta say. I was playn with the fuel pressure to get 14 at idle and 10.8 in boost, i got 11.2 and hit 28 psi in 2nd gear and melted both tires and smoke was rolling. Hit 3rd gear and still spun, with this turbo it seams to spool faster that the TII turbo with a 2.2 . I dialed the boost controller to 18psi and no creep at all, i found a oil leak at the front seal so i had to go home.

nice!!!! holset buddys!
So who ever says a he351 will be too lagy for the street, needs to go for a ride in this car. Hands down this turbo spools as fast as the TII if not faster.

That's awesome!
you didnt say when you were hitting boost and when full boost happened? care to share?
Sorry i was watching the air fuel gauge and didnt drive it long enough to see what the rpms were at. I need to replace the front seal and do another road test.
Ok i went for a rip after the new oil seal, Boost come on @ 3000 and 4200 i have 23 psi. The MP stage II LM that is in the car doesnt work well with 72lb injectors so it was 10-11.2, iam sure when i get my new cal it will be alot better. Timing is set at 9 and will be bumped to 12 later on. It did hit 28 psi @4200 rpm and it put a big smile on my face.
The clutch is awesome and the posi works perfect, it still is very streetable with this combo. If anybody else is on the fence about putting a holset turbo on a 2.5, dont be scared and just do it.
Nice work, just picked up the same turbo but running it on 2.2 see what happens
