    Current cast crank limits

I know this has been gone over in the past, but times have changed, people's set-ups have changed, and the limits of our engines have been pushed to new heights as of recent.

My question is simple, what is the highest power/torque and rpm numbers people have RELIABLY achieved with a cast crank 2.2 OR 2.5?

By reliable I mean not having to tear it down ever week to put new bearings in it and things like this.

Just ask Warren Stramer exactly how long he ran the cast crank in his Laser.

I believe for 2.2 that would be Warren's mtr, somewhere north of 500WHP and the snout of the crank broke off. Other than that, I think it was fine at that power level as far as bearing wear ect.

A few have run cast well into the 500 whp bracket and lived, and at 7+K rpm. I've probably put 400 whp thru mine plus street duty etc, hasn't skipped a beat. I've only gone thru one set of mains due to fuel diluting the oil,
