I'll be hitching the wagon train at the Oasis on Sat morning. The 87X is out this year (bad rings) but will have the PT-SRT loaded and ready to go.

anyone have any firsthand knowledge on if there's any good car washes nearby?

i'm really strapped for time and probably not going to be able to clean the car before i leave.... and even if i do, i expect a 700 highway mile journey to leave at least the facia all sorts of buggy...

Last time, they accomodated us with a hose behind the hotel. So bring your car wash supplies in case this repeats.

And there are a couple coin operated washes not too far from the hotel.

One last question, anyone know at what ET a helmet is required...i don't really feel like spending that kind of money especially since i'm missing the autocross and my last ET with the daytona was a 17.7 (and the car is "rated" for a high 12 lol)

This was the best car wash station set up that I ever remember. They had car wash soap and towels and buckets even!

13.99 and faster a helmet is required. Also, the helmet needs to be up to date. I assume though, that if you don't have a helmet, many people will have one to borrow.

I'm mostly loaded up (all the heavy stuff, except for all the beer) and leaving at 9 am tomorrow!

Looks like I'm not bringing the R/T, it just won't run well enough to take it 1k miles away. Too many issues to sort out and not enough time. I get the joy of taking the sally-rand TBI Acclaim instead.

    Hi all,
Tom and I will be leaving NJ in about eight hours, 3am Fri morning. No Caddy this year, she is tired. See you all soon!

PS: I am in need of two spare donut tires for a G/J body if anyone has some to give away. So I can junk a car.
