Re: 92 IROC R/T Build Plans.

Looks pretty good, although I was looking forward to seeing them polished.

Well I was going to polish them this year, but I ran out of time and patience right now. That may be a project for next winter. Time to drive the car now.

Re: DoubleD's IROC R/T Build Log

    Did some forum digging......
Spent my luch break today reading old threads on the other forum. Both previous owners of my car had pretty extensive posts on the other site. Most of the hard parts and stories of the past of the car on there. I know where all the hop up parts were bought from and when they were installed. I found out the history and backstory of the current engine and the dissassembled spare that came with it. Current motor in the car is out of a 91 Spirit R/T, It was supposidly rebuilt and modified, has 117K on it. The spare motor that came with the car dissassembled is the original engine out fo the Daytona, the first guy had two injectors pop-out and melted down the center two pistons, along with chunking a valve. It must have got super hot!
But this dissassembled motor looks to have already had the crank turned, it did come brand new bearings. I will send the crank out and have it checked to verify, but if that is the case and little digging in the forums will answer plenty of my questions!

Gettting ready to build the motor I've always wanted for this car, the powerplant has never been 100% since I have owned it! Always something limiting its potential, but that will not be the case much longer...

Yeah that sounds great. Not too loud, but still some badassness...

Gathering parts for a engine rebuild this winter, plans could get out of hand and this should be a quick car.

What are you running for exhaust? It sound near identical to my R/T with full 3" and a dynomax ultarflow round straight through muffler.

Currently running Jackson Holset down pipe to 3" exhaust all the way out the rear. I have a Magnaflow resonator mounted under the center of the car and a Magnaflow Oval Muffler in the rear, pipe exits straight out the back to keep the noise down. Car resonates and drones bad between 2800-3000 rpm. Going to be trying a Heatthrob HVS muffler in the spring, see if if kills the drone, update to follow.

Tore down my top end tonight to get it ready for the machine shop.

Turbo looks like it was running a little hot.

I have no idea what happened here, but I'll be investigating everything before putting in a new wheel.

Re: DoubleD's IROC R/T Build Log

Got a little work done on the car lately. Finished up my oil pan baffle. Ton of parts are out locally for powder and ceramic coatings.

Engine bay looks like this now. Since I'm pulling the drivetrain, I've decided to paint the engine bay to match the exterior. Also rebuilding all of the wiring harnesses with new loom and tape wherever needed.

Picked up a nut rivet tool. Liking the look of these. Replacing all self tapping screws with rivet nuts and stainless button fasteners. Should look good when complete.

Nice work. Are the rivets easily removable, or is that permanent?

They are removed as easily as any steel rivet, you would have to drill them out. So, I would call them semi-permanent, they will look so much better than extended bolts and nuts, or self tapping screws.

Rods are finally in, (Brian Crower SRT-4's) Sending them to the machine shop early next week to be added to my build being done there. Can't wait for the spring and driving my car with a fresh engine. It has always had issues since I bought it many years ago.

Pulled the motor tonight. Here is what the oil pump looks like. Looks reusable to me.

Pulled the intermediate shaft tonight. Here's how that looks too.

Couple goodies showed up today also, to rebuild the engine.
