Is heavy clutch common for Chrysler 1991 5 speed? What transmission?

Red 91 Dodge Shadow convertible with 2.5 TBI and 5 sp stick. VIN says Mexico plant and from Allpar's write up, obviously one of the hardtop shadows that went to the after-market shop to be changed into a convertible. Has the factory Dodge manuals and an extra Dodge manual which is additional for the convertible top. 105,000 original miles with factory service book. Car has the cleanest undercarriage I have ever seen. Looks like 2 years old, not 20 years old. Yeah!

Bummer, no air-conditioning. What were they thinking, even in Indiana.

Leaks from the side plate on the driver's side of the trans. Probably remove plate, change gasket. est $20
Muffler has a 1" rust hold at the back. R/R est $75
Two cracks in the windshield. R/R est $175
Needs 4 wheel wheel alignment and shim for driver's rear judging from tire wear. est $45 + shim
5 inch tear in convertible top behind passenger side window. est $40 at repair shop
Power windows are not working. Worst case $150 for two motors.

Clutch is heavy. Don't have a 5-speed car. All my cars are A-413 3 speed automatic. Was a heavy clutch typical for generation that includes 1991?

How do I tell what type of transmission is in this car?

What is your opinion? Buy it and fix it?

There is metal tag on top of the transmission, stock, you should have a A523. 80-90's dodge tend to have heavier feel clutch, due to the clutch cable design. You'll get use to it.

If the pedal feels crunchy or like its grabbing and popping when you push it down, it could also be a clutch cable issue.

I have never found a tbi pressure plate to feel 'stiff' in my judgment.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Clutch shouldn't be heavy, if it is, it could have had a performance clutch installed? , or the cable is worn, or the clutch is worn.

The trans leaks, there is not gasket, its sealer, so the trans could have had repairs and might need to come out to fix, that plate has to come off, a bit of work for a newbie.

Depending on price, its probably worth getting but the roof probably leaks in the rain.
